About Us

Who We Are

The IND Alumnae Association (INDAA) is a proud membership body of graduates of Baltimore’s Institute of Notre Dame. Despite the school’s closure on June 30, 2020 after 173 years in the same Aisquith Street location, the Alumnae Association is committed to keeping the Spirit of IND alive. IND alumnae number nearly 8,000 strong – with many different talents and interests committed to sustaining our school’s enduring legacy of education and leadership. As a nonprofit association, we are more committed than ever to having the Spirit of IND remain a beacon of light in the community and maintaining the bonds of sisterhood and support for one another.

 Our Commitments

  • Sustaining the bonds of sisterhood among members through events, networking opportunities, class reunion support, communications and targeted outreach
  • The preservation of the school’s heritage and the upholding of important IND traditions, including among the classes of 2021, 2022 and 2023 who were unable to graduate
  • Philanthropic initiatives and community service projects, particularly charitable efforts to support the education of young women, along with continuing support of our East Baltimore community through our annual Thanksgiving Drive and school supply initiative
  • Championing education for girls and young women, just as IND had done since 1847, especially that which helps support the holistic development of students beyond academics

My dear girls, I commend you to the Holy Spirit through the powerful intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and I entrust you forever into her blessed hands. One mind, one heart, Mother Theresa, pray for us.

- Long-standing IND end-of-school-day prayer
